Mission

The mission of our school is to develop, educate, and nurture our children through the collective efforts of the teachers, parents, and community members. Our long-term goal is to produce independent, literate, and responsible citizens who possess the learning skills that enable them to continue their educational process as self-motivated, life-long learners, problem solvers and critical thinkers.

Our goal is that 100% of students will gain admission to the high school of their choice.

Points Of Pride

We are one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse schools in the District. The Kirkbride School was recognized as a Peer Leader for Overall Performance for 3 recent consecutive years in the release of the School District of Philadelphia's School Progress Reports. Teachers engage in collaborative inquiry groups to advance teaching and learning. We maintain a positive and family-oriented school climate. Our students have been recognized in citywide art and writing competitions, and we host monthly celebrations for our students to recognize outstanding achievement. Our Home & School Association and Friends of Kirkbride groups are active in supporting our school and teachers through community efforts aligned with our school's priorities. Principal Julien was recognized a Lindback Distinguished Principal in April 2019.

Admissions Policy

Students must live within designated catchment boundaries; students may apply to a school(s) outside of their neighborhood and will be considered if space is available.
