Mission

The mission of KIPP West Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School is to develop the character, knowledge, and skills of our students so they will succeed in top-quality high schools, college, and the competitive world beyond.

Points Of Pride

KIPP provides rigorous academics with a strong focus on a well-rounded education including character building and enrichment opportunities. With a longer school day (7:40AM - 3:30PM), students have an intervention block where they receive additional supports in reading and math. Beyond the academics, we a strong orchestra program, exciting field lessons, end of year trips, and student clubs.

Admissions Policy

Open to all students who live in Philadelphia. If there are more applications than available seats, a lottery will be held. The school’s enrollment policy gives priority to the following groups in this order: Parent is staff member or founder, Sibling attending; Sibling accepted offer, Lives in Philadelphia

Accreditations and Honors

Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for Two Consecutive Years: 2009-2010 and 2010-2011; Recognized by the Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools as a Member in Good Standing for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 School Year.
