Mission

Sharswood's mission is to be accepting of all students at their different learning styles. Our school serves children who range from mentally gifted to intellectually disabled. Our student population is a reflection of society, and we need to work together for a better world. We believe that every child should show measurable growth each year. The school's motto is "Achieve your personal best." It is a successful year when all of our students have made growth.

Points Of Pride

1. Sharswood is a neighborhood school that works with the diverse needs of our community.
2. Addressing the various needs of our students by following a model of inclusion.
3. Our Arts Program continues to grow and develop with Visual Arts, Vocal Music, and Instrumental Music teachers. All of our students began learning the keyboard this year and have access to the keyboard lab that contains 30 keyboards and headsets so that they can learn how to play at their own pace.
4. We want our students to enjoy all the benefits of a school community by offering school spirit activities throughout the year. Activities include: Octoberfest, Holiday Week, Blue & Gold Day, Olympics Day, Earth Day, Sharswood Day, Staff vs. Students Volleyball Game, etc.

Admissions Policy

Students must live within designated catchment boundaries; students may apply to a school(s) outside of their neighborhood and will be considered via lottery based on a available space.
