Mission
SLA provides a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum with a focus on science, technology, mathematics and entrepreneurship. Students at SLA learn in a technology-infused, project-based environment where the core values of inquiry, research, collaboration, presentation and reflection are emphasized in all classes.Points Of Pride
SLA is the National Dell Computing Center for Excellence in Educational Technology. A leader in the national School 2.0 movement, SLA provides a vigorous, inquiry-driven and project based approach to learning. Students at SLA learn in a technology-rich, project-based environment where the core values of inquiry, research, collaboration, presentation and reflection are emphasized in all classes.
SLA's modern approach to school has been showcased by many local and national publications including Edutopia Magazine, EducationWeek and PBS NewsHour. The Class of 2020 received over $3 million in college financial aid. The CTE Engineering program has worked with the Easter Seals, Engineers without Borders and many other organizations to develop tools to improve the lives of people all over the world. The CTE Digital Video program has been recognized nationally for their student films. With a robust extra-curricular life, SLA features award-winning journalism, debate and robotics programs and 22 sports teams - including our Girls Volleyball, Cross Country, Track, Girls and Boys Ultimate, and Baseball teams who have all made the State Championships in the past two years.
