Mission

Spring Garden Academy partners with families to provide quality care and a Christian education to Philadelphia's children, including those who are most at risk, in an environment designed to meet the needs of children in all areas of development: physical, intellectual, social, emotional, creative and spiritual. Our commitment is to a quality and affordable education that integrates a Christian worldview with an emphasis on the spiritual formation and calling of each child so that he or she will be prepared to become a leader in the family, church and community.

Points Of Pride

Our approach is highly differentiated and geared to the needs of each child. We have moved away from the factory model of education and have embraced a family model. Spring Garden Academy embraces the performing arts and offers music in all grades as well as dance, poetry, drama, and visual arts in our curriculum.  Finally, we are committed to the spiritual development of each student and supporting the entire family.

Admissions Policy

Enrollment is open to all children, regardless of race, color, national origin or religion, whose parents accept as the foundation of their child's education the purpose and theological basis of the school. Children entering kindergarten must turn 5 by September 1st of that school year.

Our preschool program participates in the city's PHLpreK program, offering free education for 5.5 hours a day to enrolled 3 and 4 years who live in Philadelphia. This is a secular program and is open to all.

Accreditations and Honors

We are a Star 4 Child Care and After School program and require all teachers to pursue education.  All lead teachers are required to be certified in trauma responsiveness within 2 years.
