Mission

At St. Martin de Porres School, we strongly embrace our Catholic Christian identity. In a Christ-centered environment we seek to educate our young, not only academically, but also spiritually, emotionally, and morally to evoke students' potential and empower them to build their own character.

Points Of Pride

We offer five specials classes for students, so they take part in one special each day: Art, Gym, Music, Technology, and SEL.

Strong emphasis on Social and Emotional Learning, including weekly SEL class, Peace Corners in each classroom, and a Peace Room managed by our School Counselor.

We have an After School Clubs program, which consists of an hour of academic support and an hour of enrichment for various activities.

Admissions Policy

Applications open for the following year on October 1st. Families can apply on our website or call the school to set up a tour and meeting with our tuition and enrollment manager. Prospective students present their current report cards, shot records, birth certificate, and any IEP/504 plans (if applicable). Students are also required to take a reading and math test. Once the information is gathered, the results are evaluated and a decision is made regarding admission.

Entrance Instructions

All guests should enter at the Main Door on Lehigh Avenue just off 23rd Street. All guests are required to ring the bell and have their ID scanned by the Main Office staff.

We have a full time Dean of Students who manages student discipline and works to maintain a positive and safe learning environment. Additionally, we have a school counselor who works alongside two Family Connections Liaisons, provided by Catapult, to provide counseling support to all students. Together with the Social and Emotional Learning teacher, and the admin, teachers, and staff, our team works with individuals, groups, and classes to enhance the level of safety and respect throughout the school.
