Mission

West Catholic Preparatory High School is a Catholic community of academic excellence open to an interdenominational population. Rigorous spiritual, academic, technological and extracurricular programs develop our diverse student body into young men and women of strong moral and ethical character. West Catholic prepares each student to face the challenges of everyday life, embrace leadership positions in the community, and value service in an ever-changing global society.

Points Of Pride

West Catholic has produced nine Gates Millennium Scholars in the past 10 years.
West Catholic has twice been awarded the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.
100 percent of graduating seniors are accepted to university or college, with approximately $20 million dollars awarded in scholarships in 2019.
Partnerships and alliances with the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, St. Joseph's University, Manor College, Community College of Philadelphia, the University of the Sciences and Lankenau Hospital.

Admissions Policy

Incoming students must successfully pass the 8th grade and have a good record of attendance, punctuality and conduct. All interested students must take the West Catholic placement test and submit 7th- and 8th-grade marks and immunization records for final acceptance. Scholarships and financial aid opportunities are available.

Part of our mission as West Catholic Preparatory High School is to prepare each of our students to face the challenges of everyday life. This year, our students’ physical and mental health will be our first priority. Although this year will certainly be filled with more challenges than usual due to COVID-19, we remain committed to our students’ academic and spiritual success.

Years ago, West Catholic launched the Burr Academy to assist incoming freshmen in their adjustment to high school. This program is directed by a counselor/coordinator and the team of freshman teachers. This team meets biweekly to discuss difficulties students may be having and plan strategies to help the students resolve them. A parent/family interview is an integral part of the beginning of the freshman year.
